Direct answer: Reach the eastern Scadu Altus river route, follow the Recluses’ River downstream to Darklight Catacombs, descend through the dungeon, and exit into the Abyssal Woods.
Reach the catacombs
- From Scadu Altus, travel east to the Castle Watering Hole and find the river path below Shadow Keep.
- Follow Recluses’ River downstream, using the ledges and waterfalls to continue lower.
- At the end of the river route, enter Darklight Catacombs. Activate its first grace before descending.
- Explore the catacomb’s darkened levels and use the levers to restore lighting and lower barriers.
- Defeat the dungeon’s boss and exit through the far door to reach the Forsaken Graveyard in Abyssal Woods.
Survive the woods
Torrent cannot be summoned in the Abyssal Woods. Aging Untouchables patrol the forest and punish direct combat; crouch in tall grass and move behind them. Avoid drawing their attention, and use the Woodland Trail grace as a safe checkpoint before going deeper toward Midra’s Manse.
Common wrong turns
The forest has no direct surface entrance from the nearby coast or Scadu Altus. The Darklight Catacombs exit is the intended access route. If Torrent is unavailable, you have reached the correct area.
