Direct answer: You can reach Scadu Altus by defeating Rellana, Twin Moon Knight at Castle Ensis, or by using a spirit spring near the Elder’s Hovel to enter Fort of Reprimand from the east.
Route A: Castle Ensis
- From Gravesite Plain, follow the road northeast across Ellac Greatbridge to Castle Ensis.
- Explore through the castle and defeat Rellana.
- Continue through the exit beyond the boss arena. The Moongazing Grounds grace marks the entrance to Scadu Altus.
Route B: spirit spring and Fort of Reprimand
- From Gravesite Plain, ride east toward the Elder’s Hovel and the cliff beneath Fort of Reprimand.
- Find the spirit spring and use it to jump onto the fort’s approach.
- Enter the fort, pass through its courtyard, and leave by the far side to reach Scadu Altus proper.
Before going farther
Activate a grace and check nearby Miquella’s Crosses for Scadutree Fragments. The blessing level is important for damage and defense throughout the DLC. Scadu Altus opens routes toward Shadow Keep, Moorth Ruins, Bonny Village, and the Recluses’ River.
Common wrong turns
Castle Ensis is not the only route. If Rellana is stopping progress, the eastern spirit spring provides a second entrance. Do not confuse the Fort of Reprimand exit with the entrance to Shadow Keep.
