Direct answer: Travel north through Stormhill to Stormveil Castle and defeat Margit, the Fell Omen. At the castle entrance, Gatekeeper Gostoc offers either the heavily guarded main gate or a side path along the cliffs.
Reach the castle
- From Gatefront, follow the road northwest through Stormgate toward Stormhill Shack.
- Continue north to Castleward Tunnel and defeat Margit.
- Speak with Gostoc in the gatehouse beside the main entrance.
Choose an entrance
Side path: Accept Gostoc’s advice, leave the gatehouse through the opening, and follow the cliffside route into the castle. This avoids the main gate’s crossfire but still has soldiers and a dangerous Banished Knight encounter.
Main gate: Tell Gostoc to open it, then sprint through the archer fire or clear the defenders. This is the most direct route to Stormveil Main Gate.
Common wrong turn
Choosing the main gate does not permanently remove the side entrance. You can return to Gostoc and use the opening later. Activate the first grace as soon as you enter.
