Direct answer: Reach Volcano Manor either by accepting Rya’s invitation after reaching Altus Plateau or by climbing Mt. Gelmir from the Bridge of Inquiry. Speak with Tanith and accept her offer to unlock the manor’s interior.
Route A: Rya’s invitation
- Find Rya in Liurnia and retrieve her necklace from the Blackguard near the Boilprawn Shack, or buy it back from him.
- Give the necklace to Rya, then meet her at the Lux Ruins after reaching Altus Plateau.
- Accept her offer to travel to Volcano Manor. She teleports you directly to the manor entrance.
Route B: climb Mt. Gelmir
- From Altus Plateau, follow the road west toward the Bridge of Inquiry and the First Mt. Gelmir Campsite.
- Climb the ladders and follow the soldiers’ camps, bridges, and ravines westward. The route zigzags across the mountain; use Sites of Grace as anchors.
- Reach the manor entrance at the western end of Mt. Gelmir.
Unlock the interior and protect quest progress
Arrival alone does not open the main manor rooms. Speak with Tanith and accept the Drawing-Room Key. If you want the manor contracts, Rya and Patches’ dialogue, or the rewards tied to those invasions, complete them before defeating Rykard. Killing Rykard can end the manor’s active quest state.
Common wrong turns
Do not confuse the exterior entrance with the Prison Town route. The teleport from Rya gets you to the manor safely but does not complete its questline.
