Before you set out
- Activate the Bridge of Sacrifice Site of Grace and walk south.
- Expect a contested road: a Troll, attack dogs, and Misbegotten fight at the carriage.
- The Morning Star needs 12 Strength and 8 Dexterity to wield.
Follow the route
1. Start at the Bridge of Sacrifice
Activate the Bridge of Sacrifice Site of Grace, which sits in Limgrave at the north end of the peninsula. Face south and take the main road down toward Castle Morne.
2. Follow the road to the carriage
Stay on the main road. The carriage is a wrecked wagon on the road itself, not in a building or a side path. It sits partway down, before the road reaches the Castle Morne Ramparts.
3. Deal with the fight at the wreck
Soldiers of Godrick, a Troll, and attack dogs are engaged with Misbegotten at the carriage. Let the fight pull aggro or clear it yourself, either way you need room to reach the back of the wagon.
4. Open the chest
The chest is at the back of the carriage. Open it and collect the Morning Star. Confirm the item name in the pickup notification and the weapon in your equipment screen.
5. Check your requirements
The Morning Star needs 12 Strength and 8 Dexterity. Collecting it does not bypass those requirements, so check your attributes before planning to use it.
Common wrong turns and restrictions
Some older videos report different loot at this location. Those clips predate the current version. Current references for the Morning Star all list this carriage on the Bridge of Sacrifice road, and the weapon’s in-game version is 1.17, so treat the older descriptions as out of date rather than as an alternative location.
If the chest is empty on a save you have played for a while, check whether you already collected it. An empty chest is not evidence that the item moved or was removed.
The Bridge of Sacrifice grace is in Limgrave even though the carriage is in Weeping Peninsula, because the bridge is the boundary between them. Start there and walk south; there is no closer grace inside the peninsula for this route.
Do not confuse this road carriage with wagons scattered around Castle Morne and the wider peninsula. The Morning Star is in the carriage on the main road south of the bridge, with the Troll and dogs fight around it as the identifying feature.
