The Uchigatana is on a corpse at the edge of an elevated platform inside Deathtouched Catacombs in Limgrave, beside a Skeleton Archer. You can reach it early, before the dungeon’s lever and well before its boss. No lever pull is required for this weapon.

Before you set out
- Activate the Deathtouched Catacombs Site of Grace.
- Bring a weapon for the Skeletons. The route uses an illusory wall, not a real doorway.
- This route does not require the dungeon's lever or its boss.
Follow the route
1. Start inside the catacombs
Activate the Deathtouched Catacombs Site of Grace and go down the stairs. Past the first Skeleton, the stairs continue. Sealed doors sit off to the west; leave them closed, they are not part of this route.
2. Break the illusory wall
On the right-hand side of the stairs where the first Skeleton is standing, there is an illusory wall. Strike it to pass through. If you cannot find it, it is the wall that looks like solid rock at the top of the stairs rather than an actual doorway.
3. Take the passage on the left
Go through the wall, then turn left into the narrow passage. It leads to a room overlooking the larger chamber below.
4. Kill the Skeleton Archer and loot the corpse
Deal with the Skeleton Archer on the platform, then loot the corpse at the edge of the walkway to collect the Uchigatana. Confirm the weapon in your equipment screen.
5. Stop here, or continue to the lever
This guide ends at the Uchigatana. If you want the dungeon’s other rewards, drop down west into the lever room, pull the lever, then return east and north through the doors that were sealed near the grace. That opens the way to the Black Knife Assassin, which drops the Assassin’s Crimson Dagger, and a Deathroot chest past the boss.
Common wrong turns and restrictions
You do not need the lever for the Uchigatana. Several guides describe a lever-first route, but the weapon sits on the platform before you ever reach the lever room. If a guide sends you to the lever first, you can skip that step.
The route in is an illusory wall, not a real doorway. It sits on the right of the stairs where the first Skeleton stands, and it is easy to walk past. If you are searching only around real doors, you will miss it.
Two doorways appear in the wider room, and the smaller northern one is the correct path. The larger one leads elsewhere in the dungeon.
Skeletons reassemble after a knockdown and come back at full health. Hit them again while they lie in pieces, or they will stand up. They only drop loot if you finish them off.
The Samurai origin starts with an Uchigatana. The catacombs weapon is a separate pickup for any class.
