Direct answer: Mohgwyn Palace has two access routes: use the Pureblood Knight’s Medal from White Mask Varré’s quest, or take the sending gate in the western Consecrated Snowfield. Varré’s medal is the earlier option; the Snowfield gate comes much later.
Earlier route: Varré’s quest
- Meet Varré at the First Step, defeat Godrick, then speak with the Two Fingers and Varré at the Rose Church in Liurnia.
- Accept the Festering Bloody Fingers and invade other players three times. The invasions need not be wins. On current patches, an offline NPC invasion at Writheblood Ruins can substitute if online play is unavailable.
- Return to Varré and follow his instruction to soak the Lord of Blood’s Favor in a maiden’s blood. One available body is in the Church of Inhibition.
- Give the bloodied cloth to Varré. Accept the Pureblood Knight’s Medal and use it from your inventory to teleport to Mohgwyn Palace.
Later route: Snowfield sending gate
Acquire both Haligtree Secret Medallion halves, use them at the Grand Lift of Rold, then search the western edge of the Consecrated Snowfield for a sending gate. This route avoids Varré’s invasion steps, but it requires reaching a late-game region first.
Common wrong turns
Varré’s medal is a reusable key item, not a one-time consumable. The Snowfield portal is easy to miss in the blizzard. Both routes lead into the blood marsh; activate the Palace Approach Ledge-Road grace before farming or climbing toward Mohg.
